Sturdiwheat

Sturdiwheat has been making all-natural pancake and baking mixes since 1939. The company began when founder Arnold Kaehler accidentally discovered a flavorful wheat layer while grinding grain. Today, they continue to use his original process to produce mixes that are simple, wholesome, and delicious. Their products include pancakes, bread, dessert mixes, and hot cereals.

Flippin’ Delicious

Since 1939, Sturdiwheat has been making pancake mixes that taste like homemade—just add water! Their all-natural, egg-free blends are perfect for families and allergy-friendly breakfasts. Made in small batches with organic flour, they’re a delicious nod to Minnesota’s culinary heritage.

Arnold Kaehler

Sturdiwheat has been a Minnesota favorite since 1939, when Arnold Kaehler accidentally discovered a richer, more flavorful part of the wheat while grinding grain on his farm in Red Wing. Intrigued by the taste, he started experimenting in his kitchen and soon created a new kind of pancake mix—one with incredible flavor and wholesome ingredients.

He named it Sturdiwheat, inspired by the strength-building layers of wheat he used. But as it turns out, people didn’t just buy it because it was good for them—they bought it because it was delicious.

Today, Sturdiwheat is still made in Red Wing, still using Mr. K’s unique process, and still loved for that same great taste. It’s a breakfast tradition that’s stood the test of time.
