Bare Honey

BareHoney is a family-run beekeeping business founded by Dustin and Grace, blending raw honey with simple spices to create spreadable honeys and infused varieties. Their mission is to support pollinators and local agriculture while producing delicious, healthy honey. They collaborate with local farms and the University of Minnesota’s Bee Squad to breed resilient honeybee colonies.

Natural Nature

BareHoney is buzzing with goodness. We love their dedication to pollinators, local farms, and deliciously creative honey blends. From spicy to spreadable, their honey is a sweet reminder of how good nature can taste.

Bare Honey specializes in innovative raw honey spreads that offer a wholesome and flavorful alternative to the overly processed, sugar-heavy products commonly found on store shelves.

Dustin Vanasse

Dustin’s passion for food began on his grandfather’s cattle ranch, where he developed a deep appreciation for agriculture. This early influence led him to a 15-year career as a gourmet chef, traveling the world and honing his culinary skills. Despite his global experiences, his strong Minnesota roots eventually brought him back home.

Back in Minnesota, Dustin worked closely with local farmers who supplied ingredients for his restaurant menus, strengthening his connection to the state’s agricultural community. This passion inspired him to pursue studies in agribusiness and entrepreneurship at the University of Minnesota.

While working with the Minnesota Grown program at the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, Dustin led marketing research for various grower associations. Through this work, he discovered a common need among fruit and vegetable growers: honey bees. This insight sparked the creation of a small family-run beekeeping operation, allowing him to stay connected with the growers he had come to know.

Today, Dustin and his wife have grown Bare Honey into one of Minnesota’s leading honey brands. Their products are now featured in specialty grocery stores across the country. Dustin’s background as a chef, combined with his agribusiness expertise, laid the foundation for Bare Honey’s success.
