Norsland Lefse

Norsland Lefse has been making traditional Norwegian lefse since 1983. Based in scenic bluff country along the Root River, their facility includes a bakery, coffee shop, and gift store offering Scandinavian treats and lefse-making tools. They ship nationwide and welcome visitors to watch the lefse-making process.

Generations of Tradition

Norsland Lefse is a taste of tradition we’re proud to share. Their handmade Norwegian flatbread is a beloved staple, made with simple ingredients and generations of care. We love their dedication to heritage, hospitality, and heartwarming flavor.

Lori and David McDonald

In 2024, the Johnson family sold Norsland Lefse to Lori and David McDonald. Carrying on the founders’ commitment to authenticity, they continue to use real potatoes and traditional techniques. From lefse to Uffda Chips, the makers behind Norsland Lefse continue to blend tradition, innovation, and local pride in every batch.

Lefse is not just a buttery, sugary treat – it is also delicious with pb&j, as a burrito wrap, or in the form of Uffda Chips, their delicious lefse snacks made exclusively by Norsland. Lefse is not all the family knows; they also sell a wide array of Scandinavian food and gifts including lutefisk and more to give customers the traditional nordic experience year round! Minnesotans will be right at home in their shop with their Uffda line of apparel and accessories and their “Ole and Lena” brand of jams, pickles and other locally made goodies. Be sure to stop in for a true Minnesota culinary heritage experience!
